New pattern release : Loya

My new shawl pattern was just released through ravelry



Loya is a triangle shawl worked bottom up.
You start at the bottom and work up to the neck edge.
From there you finish both “wings” separately”.

It’s a great pattern for handspun and handspun-like yarns.

Material
The shawl requires approx. 350 gr (720 yds / 659 m) of Aran or Bulky Weight Yarn. 
Main color is the handspun yarn with an amount of 200 gr (453, yds / 398 m) and Contrast color CC is a matching uni coloured yarn with an amount of 150 gr (285 yds / 261 m)
  • One US 8 / 5 mm circular needle (or size to obtain gauge), 32 “/ 80 cm or longer
  • stitch marker
  • tapestry needle
  • kitchen scale

2 skeins of Kiso by Noro (Bulky, 70% Wool, 15% Silk, 15% Alpaca, 218 yds / 199 m per 100 gr) col 3 as MC
and
3 skeins of Felted Tweed Aran by Rowan (50% Merino, 25% Alpaca, 25% Rayon, 95 yds / 87 m per 50 gr) col 759


Gauge
14.5 sts x 22 rows = 4 x 4 “/ 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch (after blocking)



Finished size after blocking (wingspan x depth)
72 ” / 180 cm x 36 ” / 90 cm

Phiby light is a crescent shawl worked top down.
Squishy garter stitch paired with sections of lace.
The garter border is formed with short rows to add more depth.

The shawl requires a minimum of 350 gr (1015 yds / 931m) of DK Weight Yarn
The sample shown used every single bit of 7 skeins of Pénélope by De Rerum Natura (DK, 90% Merino, 10% Silk or 100% Merino, 145 yds / 133 m per 50 gr, colorway: Orgeat
One US 6 / 4 mm circular needle (or size to obtain gauge), 32“/ 80 cm or longer, stitch markers, tapestry needle
Gauge:
22 sts x 33 rows = 4 x 4 “/ 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch (after blocking)
Finished size after blocking (wingspan x depth):
